Friday Workshops

At the end of the day on Fridays we sign up for Friday workshops.  All of Harmony joins together in different classrooms to do different activities.  Each week the  Harmony teachers, Ms. Crowley, Mrs. Benoit, Mrs. McCormack, and Mrs. Thyng, come up with different activities for the workshops.  You get to go to other classrooms, and somestimes you get to stay in your own room.  Some of the things we have had to choose from so far are iPads, Playdough, coloring, a variety of art projects, creating butterflies, puzzles, and going on a nature walk.  Workshops are really fun because you get to do different activities and visit all of the teachers in Harmony house.  It is also nice to be able to work with friends from other classes.  This is what we do for Friday workshops.

Library Time

Every Thursday Ms. Crowley's class goes to the library to check out books. We choose a "just right" book, and a book that interests us.  When we come in the library, we put our books on the desk so the librarian can check them back in.  If we forget our books, we can bring them back the next day.  Ms. Wentz, our librarian, lets us put books on hold, and get them when we remember to return our old books.  Once we check out our books we like to sit on the benches and read them.  We can go on the computer to find a book we are looking for using the electronic card catalog.  When everyone is done checking out books, we all line up quietly.  When we are in the library we have to be very quiet.  We love to pick out books and read them!

Choice Time

 

In the morning in Ms. Crowley's class we have choice time.  There are a lot of different things we like to do.  We like to play with puzzles, we like to play with clay, we also like to play with the pattern blocks.  We like to paint beautiful pictures with water colors.  We like to color on paper and on white boards.  Sometimes we read books.  We like to write stories.We like to create.  We have many different arts and crafts we can do.    Each morning we get to sign in on the Smart board.  That is what we like to do during our morning choice time.
